Updated every week, the Driver Rankings
take into account a driver’s performances
over the past 12 months to produce an
authoritative comparison of the finest
drivers in the U.S.
Castrol EDGE has applied the expertise
they use in the development of their oils
to create the Castrol EDGE Driver Rankings
– using expert analysis and advanced
technology to measure every minute
of action for more than 1300 drivers,
across all major U.S.-based racing series.
What are the Castrol EDGE Driver
A dynamic rankings system based on the
performance of every driver across the
USA’s fourteen major championships, from
the NASCAR Sprint Cup to Star Mazda.
How are the Castrol EDGE Driver
Each driver is given a score depending on
their qualifying position and race result from
any event that counts toward the Driver
Rankings. Additional points are given for
setting the fastest lap, leading the race,
leading the most laps, finishing on the
lead lap, gaining positions, and starting the
event. The score is multiplied by a weighting
which depends on the importance of the
championship. Every week, each driver’s
score is added to their previous points to
provide a Castrol EDGE Driver Rankings
total for the past 12 months.
How are the different championship
The strength weightings are calculated
by a team of Castrol Performance Analysts
(selected for their unbeatable knowledge
of motorsport) based on status and quality.
