He missed the 2011 season, returned
in 2012, and won the title in 2013 –
that sums up Jeg Coughlin’s last three
seasons in (or out of) NHRA Pro Stock.
After taking his Hemi-powered,
J & J Racing Dodge Avenger to
four 2013 event wins, Coughlin
clinched his fifth Pro Stock title
at the Pomona, Calif., finale.
If you think the competition is
fierce in IndyCar or NASCAR, they’ve
got nothing on the NHRA Pro Stock
series, which launches cars to 210mph
in under seven seconds…and demands
the drivers change gears, too!
More spectacular still was Jeg’s
2013 tally of 48 round wins,
despite these often being settled
by just hundredths of a second.

The launch of the limited-run SRT Viper
Time Attack will bring its lucky owners
the thrill of releasing their inner track rat.
The TA uses the standard 8.4-liter
V10, producing 640hp (only in a Viper
could that be described as “standard”),
but has an altered springs and shocks
setup, a modified aero package, Pirelli
P Zero Corsa tires, and more, making
the TA just that bit more hardcore.
(Turn to page 106 for full details.)
Says Russ Ruedisueli, Head of SRT
and Motorsports Engineering: “The TA is
for the 25 percent of Viper drivers who
not only want a supercar, but also want
to drive hard on track. Keeping that
group happy is a frequent conversation
when we’re bench racing at SRT!”
