was one thing, but when it was wrapped in Peter Brock’s gorgeous
coupe body, it was force to be reckoned with, becoming the first
American car to win the World Sportscar Championship.
Porsche 935, 1976-’ 81
Blurring the lines between production-based racer and prototype,
the 935 was a dominant force in worldwide motorsport. The 1978
version earned the nickname “Moby Dick” thanks to its long tail.
Eagle MkIII Toyota, 1992-’ 93
Dan Gurney’s All American Racers produced the pinnacle of the GTP era
for Toyota. The Eagle MkIII won 21 of the 27 IMSA races it entered.
