An IndyCar championship is about the only
thing that the popular Brazilian hasn’t achieved
during his career. But he has only finished
outside the top five in points once since 2008,
so look for him to be in the hunt once again.
What would a fourth Indy 500 win mean?
“Forget that it’s me – how cool would it be to
see any guy tying the record for four Indy wins?
Some fans of the newer generation have never
seen somebody win four, so that’s why it blows
my mind to have this opportunity.”

A sprinkling of misfortunes left Power in the
unfamiliar position of championship outsider
at the end of 2015, but things could have been
very different had he been on the right end of
the frantic late-race battle with Montoya at
Indy. He’s capable of winning anywhere, and will
expect to be right in the hunt again this season.
What adds up to a successful season in 2016?
“Winning the championship and the 100th
Indianapolis 500. That would work for me.”

Chilton has had a busy few
years: two seasons in Formula 1
with Manor, and a 2015 split
between LMP1 with Nissan and
Indy Lights, where he won in
Iowa (LEFT). For 2016, it’s all
about a rookie IndyCar season.
What can you achieve this year? “I know Chip
[Ganassi] is going to give me the car to grab
podiums. If I don’t do that, there are things I need
to learn. Time in the seat is key with IndyCar.”
