The final tally shows a decisive victory for Will Power, but with a
double-points season-closer, there was no taking it easy in Fontana.

After victory in the season-opener, Power was only briefly headed by
Castroneves. Dixon scored two wins and a second in the final four races.
• 2013 champ Scott dixon finished top three for the eighth straight year!
• While Helio Castroneves was disappointed with his fourth runner-up
championship finish, 2014 was the year he passed Team Penske mentor
Rick Mears for career poles ( 41) and matched him for victories ( 29).
• Juan Montoya’s return to open-wheel racing for the first time since
2006 was a major success, highlighted by pole and the win in Pocono.

Mother-in-law, mother and wife greet Will Power after the
hardest ninth-place finish of his career, one that clinched
the indyCar title. Something tells us it won’t be his last.
