A season ends and another begins. Some six weeks following the 2015 Petit Le Mans, several
teams and manufacturers came together at Daytona International Speedway for the first
test of the 2016 season. Many cars appeared in naked carbon as they are still very much
in development mode. What they’ll wear in 2016 will be revealed prior to the Rolex 24 At
Daytona on January 28. In the meantime, there’s something appealing about seeing cars like
the all-new BMW M6 GTLM in “skunk works” mode. It’s a sure sign that these machines are
purpose-built on the leading edge of the rulebooks that regulate them.
